Monitoring of Roof Bolting as an Element of the Project of the Introduction of Roof Bolting in Polish Coal Mines—Case Study

Roof bolting is the most popular type of support for underground mines’ workings. However, in Polish coal mines it used only as a supplementary support. To raise effectiveness and economic score horizontal development works, JSW (Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa) started project to introduce independent rock its mines. The key element monitoring mine workings supported with roof bolting, appropriate control allows one ensure proper level safety. following work presents system working applied project, well results measurements obtained using this system. aim was prove that provides safety thus applicable conditions mines, particularly Budryk mine. It be proved by evaluation data from instrumented bolts, extensometers different convergence measurements. These allowed us verify validity reliability geological mining Silesian Coal Basin.
